Updating of skills is vital to succeed in any industry, especially in industries like hairdressing, where techniques, products and equipment mean constant training is essential to continuing and improving standards.

The Apprenticeship Framework is comprised of Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Barbering and transferable skills.

Am I ready?

2 GCSEs grade A-D/9-4 or equivalent

The Apprenticeship consists of a Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals (Barbering) which includes practical and theory learning requirements covering shampoo/condition hair, cutting hair using barbering techniques to create a variety of looks, style and finish men’s hair, cut facial hair into shape and shaving services. The Apprenticeship is comprised of Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals (Barbering) and transferable skills.

The on-programme assessment consisting of the Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals alongside the transferable skills. The Diploma for Hair Professionals will use observations and online knowledge tests to assess the skills, knowledge and behaviours required for the qualification. The end-point assessment will consist of a practical assessment where the learner will demonstrate a range of services on a number of models to industry standards and within commercial timings. The learner will be questioned to assess their knowledge and behaviours. Apprenticeships will be graded at pass or distinction level depending on the learner’s performance in the end-point assessment.
