Beauty Therapy

The purpose of this qualification is develop your skills in beauty therapy and will provide you with the foundation for further learning. It will also enable you to perform your own basic services and to assist others in the salon. This qualification will prepare you to gather evidence in a realistic working environment without the need for fee paying clients. This qualification offers a wide range of mandatory and optional units designed to introduce learners to beauty therapy treatments in preparation for further study at level 2.

This qualification will enable you to improving the appearance of the hands and feet with basic manicure and pedicure techniques, you will also learn how to provide relaxing massage treatments, cleansing, toning and moisturising treatments, and you will learn how to give advice on skin care, and basic day make-up application.

To further enhance your skills you will also cover artistic and creative elements on your course such as nail art, themed face painting and photographic make-up.

To underpin this qualification you will develop a sound knowledge of health and safety and you will also develop an underpinning knowledge and understanding of the skills required to support you in the beauty therapy industry such as salon reception duties, retail displays and working with others.
