Course Aim:
This course aims to provide the students with a consolidated body of knowledge appropriate to mechanical engineering as practised within plant engineering. It will also provide students with an experience of higher education that reflects the requirements for innovation and inter-related activities in the industrial environment of plant engineering.

Student Pre-Requisites:
This course is suitable for personnel who have completed the Foundation Degree in Plant Engineering or a HND qualification and wish to progress to a level 6 honours degree in engineering.

All students will be interviewed to assess their suitability for the course. Students are likely to be aged 18+ years and hold a minimum of 96 UCAS points (equivalent to the previous rating of 240). This total can have been gained either at A’-level in appropriate STEM subjects, or, alternatively, a National Certificate at Level 3 (such as BTEC) either in Science or Engineering. In addition, prospective candidates must have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grades 9 to 5 (equivalent to the previous GCSE A to C grades) and which include Maths, English Language and an appropriate Science subject.
