HR Support Level 3 Apprenticeship

Our HR Support Apprenticeship is designed to equip participants with the fundamentals required to work in any Human Resources environment.

Throughout this Apprenticeship, participants will be supported by assessors who have worked in an HR environment and have gained many years of experience and who can truly support learners in developing the skills and knowledge required to develop a career in Human Resources.

HR Professionals in this role are typically either working in a medium to large organisation as part of the HR function delivering front line support to managers and employees, or are a HR Manager in a small organisation. Their work is likely to include handling day to day queries and providing HR advice; working on a range of HR processes, ranging from transactional to relatively complex, from recruitment through to retirement; using HR systems to keep records; providing relevant HR information to the business; working with the business on HR changes.

HR Support apprentices will typically be taking ownership for providing advice to managers on a wide range of HR issues using company policy and current law, giving guidance that is compliant and where errors could expose the organisation to employment tribunals or legal risk. In a larger organisation they may also have responsibility for managing a small team – this aspect is outside the scope of this apprenticeship and will need to be covered separately by the employer.

The Apprenticeship is designed to last 12 months, with Apprentices having monthly contact with their assessor, either through a face-to-face visit or telephone contact. Assessors will guide apprentices through each module to ensure they are applying their knowledge and skills to their job role. Our assessors will also help to build the portfolio of evidence with each apprentice to demonstrate the skills and knowledge they have gained.

How is the Apprenticeship Delivered?

This apprenticeship is delivered through workshops that take place either in our training centre in Harrogate, in Leeds or at employer locations. Apprentices will also access our learning platform to access online learning and to build their portfolio.

Completing the Apprenticeship

This is an apprenticeship standard so all apprentices have to go through the endpoint assessment process, also known as EPA. To complete the endpoint, apprentices will be required to:

Professional Discussion with an independent end point assessor
