In the UK, a fire safety training course for staff is a legal requirement. In addition, having a nominated workplace Fire Warden is one way for employers to make sure that adequate safety and evacuation measures are available and easy to implement in the event of an emergency.

Know-How Training & Consultancy Ltd provides a one-day training course that arm learners with the requirements necessary to become a qualified Fire Warden.

By the end of your Fire Warden course with Know-How Training & Consultancy Ltd, you should be able to have:

  • A clear understanding of the legal duties of a Fire Warden
  • An in-depth understanding of fire,
  • A familiarisation with fire hazards
  • Knowledge of fire safety requirements
  • Knowledge of what your emergency evacuation procedures in the workplace should involve

The knowledge and skill you will gain from the course will assist you when you take responsibility for workplace fire safety and when protecting everyone’s well-being in an emergency.

Entry Requirements

This Fire Safety training course is for anyone looking to take on the role of a Fire Warden in an organisation. Previous knowledge on fire safety is not a requirement — anyone may take the training, as our in-depth Fire Warden course will discuss both the basics and the specifics of fire safety.

Candidates aged 14 or over may sign up for our Fire Marshal course. However, candidates may be unable to assume a Fire Warden responsibility in the workplace until they have reached the age of 16.

Candidates with a disability, medical condition or learning need may be allocated a reasonable adjustment. Contact us at Know-How Training & Consultancy Ltd to discuss.

Assessment Information

A written assessment gauges a candidate’s viability for the Fire Marshal at work qualification. By the end of the fire safety training course, they must successfully pass the 30-minute written assessment containing 20 multiple choice questions. The candidate must achieve a minimum of 15 out of 20 to pass. There is no grading of the assessment — a learner will either pass or be referred.

Upon completion, the learner will be given certification for Fire Safety Level 2 RQF/LEVEL 6 SCQF by First Aid Awards (FAA), which is regulated by SQA Accreditation and Ofqual. Our qualifications align with the guidelines set by the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) and the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).
