What does the qualification cover?
This qualification provides an ideal taster for those who may be new to the sector or new to the world of work. It is accessible to learners of all ages who may want to understand more about working in health and social care in an unsupervised capacity. It aims to introduce some basic concepts of caring and preparation for employment in the sector.

The qualification covers the areas of communication, equality, diversity and inclusion, personal development, role of the social care worker, handling information, health and safety, safeguarding, duty of care and person-centred approaches. It is a must-have for anyone taking the adult Advanced Health and Social Care Apprenticeship.

Anyone who wants to work in adult health and social care.

What are the entry requirements?
You should be at least 16 years old. We do not set any other entry requirements but colleges or training providers may have their own guidelines.

How many credits are required to complete it?
To achieve this qualification, you must achieve 21 credits from 9 mandatory units.

How is it assessed?
It will be assessed by your tutor or assessor using a portfolio of evidence.

Do you need to be working to take the qualification?
No, this is a knowledge only quali?cation.

How long does it take to complete?
You can usually complete it in 6 months,
