Arts and Culture contributes over £10bn to the UK economy each year. With audiences rising to over 18 million a year, there has never been a more exciting time to enter the industry.
Our level 3 study programmes reflect the fantastic opportunities available in the performing arts industry and beyond. This study programme offers a diverse range of specialist performance based units providing industry specific knowledge, understanding and skills that prepare students for employment, or further training. Our students learn about acting, voice, dance and movement alongside an exciting exploration of a wide range of performance styles and genres.
Our students take part in a minimum of 3 main public performances each year, culminating in a showcase of their work in a professional theatre to a paying audience! Students will work on existing published works as well as devising and writing their own performance material. We specialise in creating theatre anywhere and everywhere, and we make full use of the whole campus, indoors and out!
You will learn through a combination of lectures, dance, voice and acting workshops, rehearsals, visiting practitioners, live community based projects, assignment work and self-guided learning. To facilitate performances, it will be essential to be available for evening and weekend rehearsal and performance time. There are a minimum of 4 main shows per year. You will be expected to attend a minimum of 3 theatre trips each year.
Entry Requirements
Five GCSEs or equivalent at grade 4 or above to include English and ideally, dance, drama or music although this is not essential.
