Security Guarding Level 2

The Level 2 Award in Security Guarding (RQF) is a programme designed to meet the needs of learners requiring a qualification enabling the application for an SIA licence for security guarding. The syllabus delivers the necessary understanding of the security industry and subject related security guarding functions.

Aim:

To provide the learner with the basic knowledge and understanding required to ensure the provision of a professional level of service as a security operative and to address the SIA licensing requirements.

Objectives:

Develop the learner’s understanding of the roles and responsibilities of security officers working in the
private security industry and the relevance of regulations within which they must operate.
Develop the learner’s knowledge of health and safety in the work place including awareness of emergency procedures.
Enable the learner to implement effective methods of communication and reporting.
Develop the learner’s abilities to recognise, defuse and resolve conflict situations.
