During the Summer Term, you will learn: to talk about your daily routine; ask and say the time; talk about what you do in your free time; how to buy items at a market (weights and measures); how to shop for everyday items; how to describe and buy clothes; how to describe someone’s character and appearance; regular verbs in the present tense; colours, and definite and indefinite articles.

TEACHING AND LEARNING METHODS
The emphasis will be on learning through communication, though grammar points will also be taught as appropriate. Teaching will be done through whole class work, individual work and small group and pair work. Methods of learning include role play, listening activities, games, music and interactive activities.
COURSE LEVEL/ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
This course is suitable for students who have some prior knowledge of Spanish and is not suitable for complete beginners.
HOW PROGRESS IS CHECKED DURING COURSE
Progress is checked informally through question and answer sessions in class, monitoring of group and pair work activities, feedback and homework.
EXTRA STUDY OR PRACTICE REQUIRED AT HOME
You will make greater progress if you are able to do at least one hour of study at home in between the classes! There is no formal accreditation of this course.
MATERIALS YOU WILL NEED TO BRING TO THE COURSE
We will be using PASOS Book 1 (Student book, 3rd edition), which also comes with a CD. These are sometimes available in secondhand bookshops. The tutor will be able to advise further during the first lesson.
