A great introduction to the world of business administration. This work-based learning qualification will provide you with both a platform of essential knowledge and the practical skills needed to help your move into further education, full time employment or onto an apprenticeship.
Course Description
The main focus of this course is to give you both the experience and confidence needed to work in an office.
You will learn how to: work within a team in a business environment, use different kinds of office equipment, communicate effectively, create documents, welcome visitors, make and receive telephone calls, carry out general administrative tasks for an employer and work towards goals and targets you have been set. You’ll also be taught your employments rights and responsibilities.
The course includes a work placement, or work in a simulated environment.
Entry requirements
If you are still at school you need to be aged between 14-16 years. If you have left school, you must be aged between 16-18 to start a Study Programme. There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification but you will be given an informal interview. Course start dates are flexible.
Qualification
Level 1 Certificate in Business Administration
Before you are awarded your Level 1 Certificate in Business Administration, your achievements are assessed during a work placement or in a simulated workplace environment. You will also have gathered observations and evidence of the work you have done for your portfolio.
Course length
This course is delivered over one full year.
Progression
What can I do next? Apply for a Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in Business Administration or a Level 2 Business course.
