Setting Up A Project – look at the event planning process from taking client briefs to ensuring you measure the success of each event.

Introduction to Budgeting – financial intelligence is a MUST for every event professional. You’ll not only learn how to create and manage a budget, but also to how to use it as an effective management-reporting tool.

Venue Management – look at venue finding, site visits, contact negotiation, visualising event set ups and the commission process.

Creativity – study why creativity is important and how it can positively impact an event journey plus how to present ideas to clients.

Production & Technical – create simple site plans, comprehend how AV and special effect can enhance an event and how to use production effectively and when it is required.

Marketing – learn the basic principles and models of marketing and create a simple marketing plan that will help you successfully promote an event and attract the right audience.

Social Media – look at different platforms, what audiences use them and which social media will be most effective to promote your event.

Skills Of An Event Manager – learn the skills needed and look behind the scenes of the industry.

You will be given a client brief and you will, with the support of your tutor, create an exciting event concept and produce a supporting written report including

Marketing/Communication plan
Sponsorship proposal
Risk Assessment
Staffing rota

This practical assessment will be 40% of overall grade.

You will also complete a Final Examination (60% of overall grade). This is a 1.5 hour multiple choice exam to test your academic knowledge.
