Explore the benefits of the updated Level 3 apprenticeship in plumbing and heating
JTL is updating the way we train heating and plumbing engineers to achieve the required industry standard. A new Level 3 apprenticeship in plumbing and heating is being launched that will not only streamline the learning route, but also provide apprentices with a wealth of knowledge and experience to prepare them for a professional career.

Quality training resulting in a recognised qualification
The depth of knowledge and experience gained throughout the course ensures that employers will benefit from highly trained employees who will deliver quality craftsmanship resulting in an improved customer experience.

Even more choice than before
The new apprenticeship offers both employers and apprentices even more choice in terms of the training received, as the new Level 3 course reintroduces gas heating training as an option.

One qualification for many careers
With just one course you can train for several career roles by choosing our new Level 3 plumbing and domestic heating apprenticeship. JTL’s new apprenticeship combines a variety of courses that were previously individual QCF/NQF qualifications, including:

Plumber
Domestic Heating Engineer
Domestic Heating Installer
Plumbing and Domestic Heating Installer
Plumbing and Domestic Heating Engineer
The new Level 3 course in plumbing and heating will usually have a 48-month duration (four years).

Learners choose an individual pathway and build onsite performance evidence during their apprenticeship. The training is coupled with Maths and English and includes end of year phase tests throughout the four-year course.

All learners must complete a standard End Point Assessment (EPA) to achieve the Level 3 apprenticeship. Achievement is graded at Fail, Pass, Merit or Distinction.

The new Level 3 Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician Apprenticeship offers a choice of four pathways:
